Chapters (Pro)
A wedding is not one block of four hundred photos. With Pro, every subfolder of the gallery folder becomes its own section with a heading, and the gallery gets a jump navigation above the grid — so a guest looking for the ceremony does not scroll past the whole morning.
You keep one gallery, one link, one password. The structure comes from the folders you already have.
What you’ll learn
Section titled “What you’ll learn”- How to switch chapters on and what the folders have to look like
- How to control the order of the chapters
- What stays gallery-wide (favourites, lightbox, downloads)
- How chapters show up inside a ZIP download
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- A Pro licence
- A gallery whose cloud folder has subfolders — chapters are those subfolders
Step-by-step
Section titled “Step-by-step”1. Structure the folder in the cloud
Section titled “1. Structure the folder in the cloud”Inside the gallery folder, create one subfolder per section:
Anna & Tom/├─ 01 Getting ready/├─ 02 Ceremony/├─ 03 Party/└─ (loose photos, shown first, without a heading)Photos that sit directly in the gallery folder come first and get no heading — a natural place for the handful of opening shots.
2. Switch chapters on
Section titled “2. Switch chapters on”Open the gallery and tick Chapters in Gallery configuration.

3. Check the result
Section titled “3. Check the result”Above the grid, the gallery shows one link per chapter:

Each chapter then follows as its own section with its heading.
Naming and order
Section titled “Naming and order”Chapters are the direct subfolders of the gallery folder, in name order. Nested subfolders below that are not separate chapters.
To control the order, put a number in front: 01 Getting ready, 02 Ceremony, 03 Party. A leading number is used for sorting and then hidden, so the heading reads “Getting ready”, not “01 Getting ready”. Without numbers you get alphabetical order, which rarely matches the run of a day.
What stays gallery-wide
Section titled “What stays gallery-wide”Chapters divide the view, not the gallery:
- Favourites work across all chapters, and a client’s list is one list.
- The lightbox pages through the whole gallery, chapter borders included.
- Downloads cover everything. Download all keeps the chapters as folders inside the ZIP, so the structure survives on your client’s hard drive.
- Password protection, statistics and the print shop are unchanged — they belong to the gallery, not the section.
Common mistakes
Section titled “Common mistakes”A subfolder is missing from the navigation. It has to be a direct subfolder of the gallery folder. Something nested one level deeper belongs to its parent chapter.
The order is wrong.
Without a leading number the order is alphabetical. Rename the folders to 01 …, 02 … — the numbers are not shown.
The heading shows the number anyway.
Only a leading number is stripped, and it needs a separator after it: 01 Ceremony works, 01Ceremony does not.
A new subfolder does not appear. The chapter list is cached for a few minutes and refreshed when you save the gallery. Open the gallery, save it, then reload the page.
Next step
Section titled “Next step”Give each gallery its own look: Layouts and look. Or let new folders become galleries by themselves: Automatic galleries.
